Who we are
Center for Women Opportunities Ghana-CENWOPP LBG (CENWOPP-Ghana) was registered in 2009 as a Ghanaian non-governmental organization and rebranded and registered in 2023 with the Registrar General’s Department of Ghana under the Companies Act 1963 (Act 179) with registration number CG034480423 and Tax Identification Number (TIN) C0062831089. The organization works to improve the environment, lives and livelihoods of the vulnerable, disadvantaged and excluded in Northern Ghana. CENWOPP-Ghana places special focus on working alongside poor women, children and local communities because, equipped with the proper resources, they have the power to contribute towards alleviating poverty and diseases of societies at large to create the needed peace. The extremely vulnerable with least economic and social opportunities are at the heart of CENWOPP- Ghana’s community-based efforts to improve agriculture production and value chains, market systems development and food security, promote gender equity, carry out health advocacies, promote biodiversity conservation and livelihoods development and promote peace building and conflict resolution in order to expand economic opportunities.

The organization currently operates in four out of the five regions in Northern Ghana namely:

Our overall objective is to promote sustainable and equitable development of the deprived, poor and vulnerable
communities and individuals to reflect social justice in the operational areas. Specifically, CENWOPP Ghana seeks to achieve the following:
To facilitate the improvement of the livelihoods of the people especially women, youth and the vulnerable in an integrated manner through capacity building programs.
In collaboration with other relevant stakeholders advocate for the development and implementation of relevant policies in the area of livelihoods, environment, Health and agriculture by holding duty bearers accountable.
To facilitate the creation of relevant spaces for right holders to engage with duty bearers.
